Loneliness in the street of fireflies. Lamps posts lit the night. It made the darkness less terrifying, but creatures still lurked. Corners were filled with deadly gazes.

She paid little attention. The mind was set on one thing only: home. Eyes frighteningly ran with with tender feet. Horrified from glares of melancholy; Mary frantically searched for a escape route.

They watched fear amongst their prey. Lips curled into twisted grins. Decomposing hands reached for their food. They wanted her body; the blood would satisfy their ever loving needs for the night or two.

Avoiding these beasts no longer worked. Mary's lips trembled as the un-dead encircled her beauty. All she could do is scream. Yells of a fearful maiden rang loudly.

Pushing aside brunette locks, frigid hands latched onto her delicate skin.

Closing innocent eyes was all one could do. Mary waited for her death. Silence became the situation before confusion entered her still lively mind.

Mary should had been destroyed by now, she cautiously opened her bright blue eyes. Her eyes widened in surprise. The maiden did find death, but all around her. Carcasses surrounded two beautiful images. One was herself, the other something else.

He stood there with a bloodied blade. Fangs created his warm smile. The essence neither good nor evil. An angel of death, and a life of perfection. Icy eyes became calm as white locks framed the face. A pale finger lightly lifted touching to his lips.

Astonished that her savior was the same as her predators, the girl could no longer speak, or even scream if needed too. She watched eagerly as the man's presence dissolved into white sterling bats fluttering away.

Left alone once more, all Mary could do is start herself home hoping no more beasts were out tonight waiting for her innocence...
